Global Practice: We have a global real estate practice – and we handle transactions throughout the U.S. and throughout the Globe, including Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Tax: Our tax practice has deep expertise in virtually all U.S. tax issues. In addition, our tax team has particular expertise in cross-border matters (both in-bound and out-bound). Finally, our tax team is particularly skilled in real estate matters, which fits nicely with our real estate pure play. Our tax practice is chaired by Jessica Millett. Corporate: Our Corporate practice handles M&A, private equity and corporate acquisitions and dispositions. In addition, one of the crown jewels of the Firm is our corporate real estate practice, which is devoted to joint ventures and similar transactions in the real estate world. The practice is co-headed by Terri Adler (who also heads the real estate department) and Patrick Duval (a founder of the Firm).The Firm is a worldwide industry leader in joint ventures and similar transactions in the real estate world. Indeed, the corporate real estate team has worked on thousands of co-venture transactions during the Firm’s history and we believe our expertise and skill set is without par at any other law firm. Bankruptcy: Our bankruptcy practice is known for acquiring assets out of bankruptcy, as well as addressing the fraudulent conduct of debtors. Our bankruptcy practice is also well-known for its expertise in the real estate world, which of course melds well with our real estate pure play. The chair of our bankruptcy practice, Kirk Brett, is an effective and practical lawyer with deep experience in all aspects of insolvency, credibility in the courtroom, excellent judgment, and a track record of finding creative solutions for our clients. Tax Exempt Organizations: Our tax exempt organizations practice has great expertise in the unique regulatory, economic and legal issues of tax exempt organizations (public charities and private foundations), including with respect to internal governance issues and disputes. It is also closely aligned with our real estate practice; indeed, we created a separate Tax Exempt Real Estate Practice, recognizing that many not-for-profit entities have real estate issues that require a combination of legal expertise in both the real estate and not for profit areas.
